Feline Fury: A Decade-Long Odyssey of Nuclear Satire and Adventure

This article introduces a unique new side-scrolling shooter featuring warfaring felines, developed over the course of 13 years. The game is being presented at a major international conference and has attracted plenty of attention due to its unusual blend of humor, action, and satire.

The developer, who has been diligently engaged in the work on the project independently, is unveiling this highly anticipated title at a prominent games conference in Bilbao. Set to debut on Steam next year, the game combines elements of political satire, nuclear-powered cats, and expansive, exploration-driven level design inspired by classic Metroidvania titles.

The central idea revolves around a world where felines are equipped with nuclear arsenals, adopt distinct political ideologies, and even maintain a space program. This approach has been compared to a well-known stealth action series—but reimagined with cats. By taking these measures, the project fulfills the role of a… elaborate commentary on over a century of human conflict.

Gameplay is structured around eight distinct mission segments that lead players through complex bases and outposts enriched with exploration elements. A notable special operative from a dedicated task force leads the charge, ...and players are presented with several alternatives to select from four different cat characters as they progress through the narrative.

The game’s setting is informed by real-world inspiration. One area mirrors characteristics of a Caribbean island nation, while a sequel map draws creative influence from a historic region in Catalonia. The developer attributes these environmental details to extensive personal travel, which has greatly influenced the game’s landscapes.

After committing over a decade to this pursuit, the… creator shared that what began as a personal passion evolved into a full-time venture. Despite facing significant health challenges, financial support has made it possible to devote complete attention to the project, making this journey both personal and creative.

Initially scheduled for a Steam launch in March, the game will subsequently be released on consoles such as PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox. The plan is to gather feedback from early players, refine the experience, and then work with professional teams to optimize the porting process.

Looking ahead, the developer has already set sights on a break to rest and travel, using the opportunity to recharge before diving into plans for a sequel. With its offbeat humor, tactical challenges, and years of meticulous development, this title is poised to become a memorable indie release in the coming gaming season.
